4. Using Filters and Search Functions
Overview
This article explains how to locate and filter assets in the CAMS Mobile App. Users can use both filtering and search tools to narrow down assets before performing inspections.

For Inspectors
This article outlines tools available to inspectors for finding and filtering assets in the CAMS Mobile App. These tools help narrow down asset lists based on hierarchy, attributes, or metadata to quickly reach the right inspection target.
Filter Icon

The Filter icon is located in the top-right corner of the asset list screen, just above the Search icon.

Tapping the filter icon opens a panel where you can refine asset visibility using metadata such as Area, Type, Partition, or assigned status.

Filter options are dynamic and may vary based on your organisation’s configuration and the current module.
Tip: Filters automatically apply as you select them – there's no need to press an additional 'Apply' button.

Search Icon

The Search icon appears at the top-right corner of the screen, just below the filter icon.

Tap it to open a search bar.

You can type any part of an asset name, ID, or other searchable value. Matching results will appear immediately.

Search will include results across the currently selected hierarchy level.

Combining Filter and Search
You can combine both filtering and search to quickly isolate relevant records:

Tap the filter icon and select one or more criteria.

Then tap the search icon to narrow results further using a keyword.
This is especially useful in modules with large numbers of assets.
Tip: If your results seem limited, try removing some filters to broaden the list.
For Administrators
Filters and search tools are available to inspectors based on how metadata and hierarchies are configured for each module. For details on how to configure these settings, please refer to the Mobile Configuration Overview.
