For Inspectors

This article outlines the functionality available to inspectors for capturing and attaching images to inspections in the CAMS Mobile App.

Accessing the Camera

  • The camera icon is located at the top-right corner of the inspection screen.

  • Tapping the icon will open your device’s camera interface.

  • After taking a photo, it will automatically be attached to the current inspection section.

  • You can capture multiple images as needed.

Note: Images are stored within the specific inspection they are taken in. Deleting an inspection will remove the images linked to it.

To learn more about capturing inspection evidence, see: Capturing Photos in CAMS.

Viewing and Managing Photos

  • Once photos are captured, they appear in a gallery strip below the section where the camera was used.

  • Tap any image to open a full-screen preview.

  • From this preview you can:

    • View the image

    • Delete the image if it was taken in error

    • Scroll between images in the same inspection

Tip: Only images captured within the inspection are stored. They are not saved to your personal gallery.

To learn more about photo handling options, see: Managing Media in CAMS.

Limitations

  • Only one photo capture field is supported per inspection section.

  • Uploads are limited to photo files only – PDF and document attachments are not yet supported.

  • Multiple photo categories (e.g. for defects or evidence) are coming soon.

Note: The current photo functionality is limited to camera-based image capture. Upload from file storage is not yet enabled on mobile.

For Administrators

Administrators can configure which inspection sections support photo capture via the mobile configuration settings.

For more details on enabling and managing photo capture options, please refer to the Mobile Configuration Overview.
