CAMS Dashboard – Navigation and Report Guide

This guide answers common questions about using the CAMS Dashboard, including how to navigate reports, export data, troubleshoot issues, and understand report types.

Navigation and Customisation

How do I navigate between different reports?

Use the home page buttons or the top tab menu to switch between available reports.

How do I select the correct analysis?

Select the most recent analysis name and apply the appropriate inflation rate to begin working with the latest dataset.

How do I apply filters to create a customised view?

Use the filter controls at the top of each report. You can filter by:

  • Location hierarchy

  • Asset hierarchy

  • Condition rating

  • Criticality

  • Lifecycle year

How do I export data from the dashboard?

Use the export to CSV option available within the reports. For large datasets, apply filters first to avoid truncated downloads.

General Information

What is the CAMS Dashboard?

The CAMS Dashboard is a web-based reporting tool powered by AWS QuickSight. It provides real-time visual insights into asset conditions, maintenance schedules, lifecycle planning, and financial performance.

What types of reports are available?

The dashboard includes a variety of reports to support inspection planning, asset lifecycle forecasting, and financial modelling:

  • Condition Summary – Displays inspection condition ratings by building and component group.

  • Lifecycle – A 40-year cost forecast and replacement plan to track asset life expectancy.

  • Condition Distribution – Heatmap showing average condition by location and component, with colour and size indicating severity and count.

  • Asset Replacement Analysis – Highlights assets nearing end of life and shows their cost contribution to the overall lifecycle.

  • Annual Works Plan – Lists assets scheduled for replacement in the current year.

  • Lifecycle Report – Table format report showing forecasted replacements year-by-year. Best viewed as a CSV.

  • 5-Year Work Plan – Summarises expected maintenance and replacement over five years.

  • Lifecycle Data Download – Raw data export of vertical-formatted lifecycle records for analysis.

  • Download Data – Preview of source data including current unit costs and configuration before forecasting.

  • Cost Forecast Summary – Pivot-style view of lifecycle cost forecasts. Use filters before exporting.

  • Residual Life Schedule – Lists remaining useful life for each asset.

  • LOS (Level of Service) Data – Supporting data for LOS calculations including matrix values and priorities.

Troubleshooting

Why is my dashboard not loading?

  • Check your internet connection.

  • Ensure you're using a supported, up-to-date browser.

  • Clear your browser cache.

  • If data volume is high, apply filters to reduce the visible dataset.

Why am I not seeing the latest data?

  • After uploading new data, the analysis must be rerun.

  • You can rerun it manually, or contact your asset manager to do so.

  • Reach out to CAMS support if needed.

Why is the data inconsistent across different reports?

  • Make sure the same filters and controls are applied across all sheets.

  • Recheck the dropdown selections at the top of each report tab.

  • If inconsistencies remain, contact CAMS support.
