Setting Up and Managing Database Names in CAMS
In CAMS, databases have two types of names:
- Short Code: A fixed identifier only visible to CAMS admins. It cannot be changed after creation.
- Display Name: A user-visible name that can be updated as needed.
Steps to Set Up a Database Name (please contact CAMS team for new database creation):
- Assign a Short Code:
- Keep it simple and relevant since it’s permanent.
- Character Limit: The shortcode typically has a limit of 10 Characters
- Character Type: Letters and numbers only (no spaces/no special characters), should not be started with numeric.
- Choose a Display Name:
- Make it descriptive of the asset or project. It can be updated later.
- Character Limit: Display names may allow up to 10 characters, providing flexibility for detailed descriptions.
How to Update the Display Name (Please contact CAMS team):
- Go to Database Settings.
- Edit the Display Name field and save changes
