Understanding the CAMS Web Interface
Overview
This article provides an overview of the CAMS Web Interface and its key components. The dashboard is the first screen you see after logging in and offers a central view of asset status, inspection progress, and job activity.
Note: Use the Quick Links panel for faster access to common actions like data upload and reporting.
Navigating the Interface
After logging in, you'll land on the dashboard. The left-hand menu gives you access to key CAMS features. Each section is described below in more detail.
Hierarchy
This section allows you to navigate through your organisation’s asset structure. You can:
-
View asset and building data
-
Add new entries to the asset hierarchy
-
Edit existing records
-
Download data for review or reporting
This is the primary working area for inspectors and administrators managing asset data.
Reports
The Reports section enables users to generate summary outputs including:
-
Tables based on inspections or asset metadata
-
Graphs or charts reflecting condition ratings, inspection frequency, and more
Reports can assist in internal planning and external reporting.
Predictive Modelling
Predictive Modelling is used to:
-
Upload Level of Service (LoS) datasets
-
Forecast asset lifecycle trends based on performance projections
This feature supports forward planning and renewal modelling using available condition and usage data.
Configuration (Admins only)
The Configuration area is only accessible to admin users. It allows configuration of:
-
Hierarchy levels
-
Custom fields and data definitions
-
Charts, report parameters, and core system settings
Changes made in this section can affect data input and reporting across the platform.
